Villa Barilli: an elegant house nestling in the beautiful setting of the green expanses of vineyards and olives of a prosperous estate in Florentine Chianti. Originally a farmhouse, surrounded by outbuildings used as barn and shelter for farm animals, it has been given new life after recent and accurate restoration. The rooms, where the old terracotta floors have been maintained, are furnished with particular sobriety and attention to detail and blend harmoniously with the extraordinary simplicity of the rural materials of the typical Tuscan buildings. From the windows of the house and from the pool area guests can admire the magnificent view stretching as far as the eye can see, from the garden to the rolling hills that surround the house, forming a harmonious symphony of shapes and colours. Guests can choose to just relax in this oasis of peace and natural well being or else to take advantage of the excellent geographical position to visit not only the main art cities of Tuscany, all within easy reach, such as Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca, but also the little medieval towns of San Gimignano, Certaldo and Vinci. The wine-producing vocation of this beautiful land allows guests to follow many naturalistic and artistic itineraries directly from the house and to explore the wine routes, dotted with old castles and villas, towards the area of the Florentine hills or southwards, to the area of Sienese Chianti

Interior:

The house has two floors, connected by a marble and terracotta staircase. In front of the villa is a parking area that brings you to the main entrance with leads you into a hallway and, from here, to the study communicating both with the beautiful living room with sofas, fireplace and TV area and with a large kitchen with dining space open out on the portico. The ground floor is completed by a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with tub and shower and by a guest bathroom. There are many French windows that allow continuous communication between inside and outside: from the living room, kitchen, double bedroom and study, in fact, you can go directly out to the furnished garden. The sleeping area on the first floor is composed of two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom with shower, two twin rooms (one with joinable beds) and a further bathroom with shower. The annex, just few meters from the house, placed the laundry room.

Park:

The house is set in a wine estate of about 30 hectares, most of which are planted with vineyards and olive groves. The garden around the house occupies an area of 5000 square meters, covered mainly by a manicured lawn and enriched with the typical vegetation of the Tuscan countryside: olive trees, the inevitable cypresses and oaks, creating natural areas of shade in the garden and alternating with herb borders, bushes of lavender and broom, and a large variety of flowers forming attractive patches of colour in a triumph of matchless scents. Cosy corners to sit and relax have been arranged in the garden as well as a shady porch with seating/dining area, just outside the kitchen. ideal for "al fresco" dinings. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The pool is located in the inner garden of the property in a super scenic position overlooking the green hills which surround it on all sides. Bordered only along part of the perimeter by a discreet hedge, it is on the same level of the house and is reached across the beautiful lawn in the park. The pool, with Roman steps for access to the water, is lined in PVC and measures 6 x 12 m with a depth varying from 1.20 to 3 m. The purification plant is chlorine and it has both internal and external lighting. Around the pool area is an 80 square metre solarium area, paved in Indian quartzite and furnished with sunbeds, deckchairs, small tables and umbrellas creating the perfect setting for relaxing and admiring the beautiful shades of colour reflected by the sun but also to enjoy the cool evening hours, sipping a glass of wine in a charming atmosphere. The pool is equipped a cold and hot-water outdoor shower and is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday in October.

The villa is strategically located in the Florentine Chianti area, in a typical landscape characterized by rolling green hills alternating with ordered expanses of olive groves and vineyards along roads framed by rows of cypress trees, where major roads and motorways converge, thanks to which countless tourist destinations can be reached quickly and easily. The Motorway of the Sun and the trunk road which links Florence, Pisa and Livorno (SGC FI-PI-LI) are just a few minutes away. The property is within easy reach of the airports in the region and of other more distant ones: Florence and Pisa are very close. For those wishing to use public transport, nearby Empoli, with its large shopping centre, is an important railway junction since it is served by two lines connecting directly with Pisa, Florence and Siena. Finally, golfers will be able to practice their favourite sport in the well-equipped golf clubs in the nearby villages of Montelupo, Vinci and Castelfalfi.

The kitchen was a delight as were the outdoor dining areas. The grounds and the pool were fantastic. The grounds keeper was a true gentleman and although he didn't speak English, he was wonderful with our grandchildren and us. We enjoyed working with him. We greatly appreciated the help your offices provided in arranging cabs for us. With the remote location that could have been a problem. Thank You.

Zer0Dep stands for "Zero deposit"; it is an insurance coverage developed in partnership with EuropAssistance which replaces the security deposit and which is therefore mandatory. The benefits of this guarantee are: you do not pay the security deposit on arrival: neither in cash nor by immobilising a substantial amount on your credit card limit;
  • you are protected in the case of eventual damage to the property caused accidentally during your stay (up to the maximum limit of 1500 euro);

  • online check-in (entering the required details that you did not enter when booking);
  • payment of tourist tax (where due) and eventual flat-rate payments requested (eg electricity, heating, extra cleaning for animals, etc.);
