RECEPTIVE STRUCTURE. Villa Sorripa stands deep in the heart of Tuscany, surrounded by the green hills of the Val d'Elsa dotted with olive trees and huge expanses of vineyards and close to the borgo of Montaione, known as the "land of green tourism" for its strong sense of hospitality and splendid nature with the many opportunities that this gives. Ideal for families with children or for a romantic stay, it is newly-built, respecting the typical criteria of Tuscan architecture, with exposed stone for the exterior, terracotta and chestnut wood for the interior finishings, to which have been added the original touch of splendid Vietri tiles in the bathrooms, one serving each elegant bedroom, and distinctive decorative objects such as the precious handmade ceramics of Montelupo. The heart of the house is the cosy open-plan living room, decorated in the many natural colours typical of the countryside and filled with light from the large French windows that open out onto a lush garden dominated, in the centre, by the private pool. The house is part of a tiny borgo together with other stone buildings destined for tourism on the edge of a small town but standing in a completely secluded position inside an exclusive park, bordered by hedges and with a separate entrance gate. Guests of this lovely rural house have the choice of simply relaxing in this beautiful peaceful setting of natural well-being or, at the same time and with the greatest of ease, exploring the major art cities of Tuscany such as Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca, the spa resorts of Montecatini and Monsummano, as well as the medieval towns of Volterra, San Gimignano and Certaldo. The exquisitely viticultural vocation of this fertile area will also enable you to go on a number of naturalistic itineraries along the scenic "wine routes", towards the area of the Florentine hills or, heading south, to the Sienese Chianti region, dotted with villas and old castles, many of which are now picturesque sites for tasting the delicious local food and wine. On request guests can have the chef in villa for typical dinner with good local dishes.

Interior:

The two floors of the farmhouse, which spreads over a total area of about 150 sq m, are independent and connected by an external staircase only. The main entrance on the ground floor leads to a short corridor along which are located, on one side, a double bedroom with private bathroom with shower and, on the other, another double bedroom (with divisible bed), served by a bathroom with shower. The corridor terminates in an open-plan living room divided into lounge area with sofas, fireplace and satellite TV, dining area and well-equipped kitchen. Completing the floor is the laundry room. The French windows in each room allow easy communication between indoors and outdoors and, in particular, two French windows in the living room open out to the garden at the back of the house with a paved patio with dining area and the pool, just a few steps away. The lower floor, reached by an external terracotta staircase next to the main entrance, consists of a double bedroom with convenient kitchenette, a bathroom with shower and air conditioning.

Park:

The well-maintained garden, which extends over a flat area of about 700 sq m, surounds the house. Just past the entrance gate is a 2-car parking area which is just a few steps from the main entrance. Flower beds, lavender and oleander bushess, lemon and olive trees create a pleasant, harmonious environment where guests can relax outdoors. At the back of the house, outside the living room French windows, a terracotta-paved patio has been set up as an outdoor dining area complete with umbrella and stone-built barbecue; from here a few steps lead to a green lawn, defined and protected by hedges and a picturesque vine screen, in the centre of which stands the swimming pool for the exclusive use of the guests. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

A few steps along a stone walkway lead to the pool, located in the centre of the back garden of the villa: its proximity to the house and the lighting throughout the area make it perfectly usable even in the evening. The oval-shaped pool, accessed by Roman steps, is lined in PVC with the depth ranging from 0.80 to 1.20 m. The pool has chlorine purification and internal lights. Surrounding it is the lawn sunbathing area provided with sunbeds, deckchairs, small tables and umbrellas. There is also a cold-water shower. The swimming pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.

Location and distances


Villa Sorripa is located about 6 km from the centre of Montaione, an old medieval town sited on a hill that preserves in its territory numerous sites of historical and archeological interest such as churches and castles. Within the old town centre, worthy of note are the Palazzo Pretorio, today the Museo Civico, and the 13th century church of San Regolo which houses a valuable painting of the school of Cimabue. A few kilometres away is the tiny borgo of San Vivaldo, known as the Jerusalem of Tuscany for the presence of the Sacro Monte (Holy Mountain), a series of chapels situated in the centre of a large wooded area surrounded by silence which dates back to the Middle Ages and reproduces, symbolically and materially, the suggestive stations of the Via Crucis of 15th century Jerusalem. We are in the beautiful setting of the Florentine Val d'Elsa, an area overlooking the valley of the river Elsa, which extends to the northern area of Siena winding through ancient villages and castles and characterized by green rolling hills alternating with ordered expanses of olive groves and vineyards, along roads framed by rows of cypresses. The area is full of a vast network of paths, perfect for sports lovers to explore by bike, on horseback or on foot the many historical and artistic attractions of the area which can also be reached by car thanks to the excellent road network. Roughly the same distance away are the art cities of Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Siena whereas closer to hand are other places, like San Miniato, Volterra, San Gimignano and the Chianti area. The house is easily reached from the airports in the region (those of Florence and Pisa are less than 60 km away), thanks to the fast roads (the A1 motorway and the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno highway) For those who prefer to use public transport, trains from Castelfiorentino, about 16 km away, or from Empoli, approximately 30 km away, ensure quick and easy travel to Florence, Siena and Pisa. The house is located a few minutes from the small town of Alberi with food shops, bar, pizzeria and restaurant. In addition, about 3 km from the property are riding stables while about 15 km away is the Golf Club of Castelfalfi (18 holes), for experts and beginners.

SHORT STAYS and NON-WEEKLY STAYS:
For some periods it is possible to make shorter stays STARTING FROM 5 NIGHTS (periods highlighted in grey on the calendar). For some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas. One of our booking operators will answer the clients within 24 hours.

WEEKLY RENTALS NON SAT - SAT STAYS:
Exclusively for the periods marked in grey on the calendar, it will be possible to book different periods, rather than the regular Saturday - Saturday (for instance: check-in Wednesday - Check-out Wednesday). Also in this case, for some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas within 24 hours.
