A villa in stone and plaster expertly restored a few years ago, using natural stones from which derive the names of the 4 suites and furnished in shabby chic style; it is the ideal place for those who love privacy and nature without renouncing all the comforts of a five-star hotel. In addition, guests can take advantage of the many extra services provided by the resort, enjoying discounts and concessions, from access to the Varsana Spa, to the tennis, squash, basketball and padel courts, to booking golf, tennis, squash and yoga lessons, to food experiences such as wine and oil tasting in the resort's internal farm, or to dining in one of the five in-house restaurants.

Interior:

Villa Pergola has three floors. The ground floor is composed of the living area, consisting of an entrance with console going down 3 steps you come to the sitting room, with smart TV, dining area with ornamental fireplace equipped with an elegant square table and the fully-equipped kitchen. To the right of the entrance is the Avorio suite, with ivory dominant in this suite consisting of a sitting area, a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with shower. The sleeping area of the villa is to be found on the two upper floors. The Cobalto suite (the most spacious) consists of a sitting room with cyclette, a double bedroom, a walk-in closet and a bathroom with shower and tub. Continuing on, the Ardesia suite is composed of a sitting room, a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with shower. On the top floor is the Grafite suite, with a large double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with shower. The floor is complete with a guest bathroom equipped with a washer-dryer.

Park:

The property lies in the Palazzo di Varignana estate. The villa is surrounded by about 4,000 sq m of garden planted with lawn and embellished with Mediterranean bushes and flowers that lend a touch of colour to this oasis of greenery and tranquillity. There are two parking areas, one in front of the main entrance and another under a pergola, which accommodates up to 10 parking. The villa has a pergola equipped with a dining table, ideal for pleasant breakfasts but also for outdoor lunches and dinners. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The swimming pool is only a few metres from the house, in a predominant position with respect to the property and can be reached via an easy path across the garden. The rectangular pool, measuring 13 x 4,50 with a constant depth of 1,40 m, is lined in PVC and has chlorine purification, lighting and steps for access to the water. The solarium area, partly paved and partly lawn, is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and hot and cold-water showers. Beside the pool are two hot tubs with water that can be heated to 32 degrees. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.

Villa La Pergola is one of the villas that is part of the Palazzo di Varignana estate, composed of over 300 hectares of land on the Bologna hills. These hills offer diverse activities, from visits to various natural parks, with numerous species of animals and plants that coexist in symbiosis with man such as the famous Calanchi, to strolls in the streets of historic borghi. On the slopes of the hills are small villages of medieval origin with their imposing castles, still very much alive today, such as Rocca di Bazzano or the hermitage of Tissano. Villa la Pergola is also just a few kilometres from some of the most important art cities in Italy, including Bologna with its splendid towers and squares and Ravenna, known as the capital of mosaics.

Has the property matched your expectations?
Yes. It was beautiful and clean. It would have been useful to mention that the property was part of an estate that supported the maintenance and care of the property. This service was fantastic so for example the BBQ was cleaned regularly during our stay. It a machine went wrong or broke - the repair team sorted it immediately. There were several restaurants on the estate and the mini bus was available to take you there.

It was expensive but the service offered along side the rental made it ok

More explanation as to how the washing machine worked and the oven. It would have been useful to know where we could dry our washed clothes. Kitchen knives would have been useful. More bowls for cereal would have been useful. All these points are so minor but useful. They did not detract from our marvellous holiday.
