PRIVATE STRUCTURE. (CIR CODE: 052010LTN0020; CIN CODE: IT052010C2SO6JNMAH) Borgo Paradiso is a 1920’s stone farmhouse; originally a structure used as a farm shed, it has been subsequently enlarged and tastefully renovated by the current owner. A home with a rustic touch, with the typical exposed-beam ceilings and antique terracotta floors, but cosy and comfortable, complemented by an elegant outbuilding used as a fitness area with a large Jacuzzi for 4 people, sauna and solarium. One of the best parts of this property is the park surrounding the house, a spectacular botanical garden, overflowing with colours and embellished with hundreds of species of plants and flowers, that winds along a real nature trail inside the property and along the paths in the woods around it. Borgo Paradiso is situated on a beautiful hill with a view over the Colline Metallifere (metal-bearing hills). Located in the small village of Ciciano, very close to Chiusdino, with its famous Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano, it is strategically placed for visiting the famous borghi of the province of Siena, such as Montalcino and San Gimignano, or the Chianti territory and admiring their unique artistic and architectural charm. There are mountains in part bare and in part lushly green, and large valleys full of gushing springs and deep trenches. Forests of tall turkey oaks and tall old oaks; shady and silent chestnut woods; vast natural grasslands. Please note. A small annex inside the property occasionally is used with the utmost discretion by the owner who will not disturb the privacy of the guests and not interfere with the areas of exclusive use of the guests.

Interior:

The house has a single floor. The entrance opens directly into the open-plan living area with lounge, dining room and fitted kitchen (with wood stove and fireplace ornamental). Then on to a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and through a small hallway with laundry corner to the second double bedroom (with divisible bed) with direct access to the garden and to the bathroom with tub and shower. Just few steps from the main house is a little annex (12 sq m) with a double sofa bed and a small bathroom with shower. Finally, about 50 m from the house is the 60 sq m wooden outbuilding with the fitness area and gym, completed by a kitchenette, shower and bathroom.

Park:

A five-hectare, fenced-in park constitutes the entire property that surrounds the house and forms the whole borgo. A well delineated path passes through the wooded areas, leading to the discovery of many scenes arranged with great care to evoke the old customs and traditions of the past: a collection of old farm equipment, and even a charcoal kiln, which has now been adapted as a reading corner. There are many places to sit and relax in various strategic spots facing the olive grove, like the terrace surrounded by climbing vines, the rich orchard (cherry, peach, fig, walnut and pear trees), the chapel (which can be visit on request) or in the shade of majestic oaks. A fabulous 3.500 sq m botanical garden houses a collection of plants and flowers, along which meandering paths lead to the various set-up areas. For alfresco dining, guests can choose between a panoramic veranda connected to the house, or a romantic gazebo, covered with climbing roses, in front of the large windows of the fitness area. And, finally, on one side of the veranda, an area paved in teak and delimited by a wall covered with climbing roses contains a cosy lounge corner. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The infinity pool overlooks the wild landscape with the unmistakable typical colours of the Colline Metallifere. Situated on the side of the property bordering the woods, it is just a few metres from the house and can be reached along a cypress-lined path. The pool is rectangular with an irregular side, has stone border, sand-coloured PVC lining, stone steps for the entrance and is equipped with internal lighting. It measures 9 x 4.5 m with a constant depth of 1.30 m. Surrounding it is equipped with sunbeds and cold-water shower. A wooden terrace is set up with sofa and armchair. The area is completed by a service bathroom/dressing room. Next to the pool, constructed on an old oak, is a wooden tree house from whose windows stretches a breathtaking panorama as far as the eye can see (entry is allowed only if accompanied by the owner). The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October.

Location and distances


The property is located in the municipality of Chiusdino, a village of ancient origins which preserves the structure of a fortified medieval castle in a magnificent hillside location. Surrounded by the Val di Merse and the Colline Metallifere, it is the ideal place for those looking for a holiday immersed in nature, exploring by bike or on foot the trails which wind through the thick woods of old oak and chestnut trees or which lead to the numerous country churches and castles of which the whole area is rich, above all the most famous monument: the Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano. In Chiusdino can be found all necessary shops and services, restaurants and pizzerias as well as good road links that allow visitors to explore the beautiful villages around Siena; within easy reach are also the beaches of the Tyrrhenian coast. The nearest railway station is Siena and there is a bus service between Chiusdino and Siena. Florence (107 km) and Pisa (118 km) are the most convenient and closest airports in the region.

Beautiful peaceful well manicured grounds surround the 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage. If you want peace and quiet this is the place. The cottage has wonderful Tuscan decor. A separate building has a hot tub, sauna, workout area which we used everyday. The hosts were great and very accommodating. The village has a grocery store for all your needs. The villa is located high up and you need to travel on a winding road to reach it. Siena is about 45 minutes away.

The welcome we received when we arrived was splendid. We were taken around and shown all the amenities of the property and then by car shown where to shop and eat locally . We were introduced to a shop keeper and a restaurant owner and invited to see the owners reclamation materials business and taken to lunch during our stay - which was both generous and fascinating. I thought the "paperwork" associated with reserving, paying for and confirming the rental was confusing. There were lots of different documents arriving at different times. Perhaps, once the reservation is confirmed, a "checklist" for documentation would be helpful. (i.e., all possible documents are displayed at the beginning; when they arrive, they show they have.)

Everything that was advertised was present in the villa. We appreciated all the lovely details that made the property feel like home -- a welcome basket of treats and a bottle of wine, lovely appliances, comfortable beds with luxurious linens, nice towels and bathrobes, plenty of dishes, great internet access so we could accomplish our research of the area attractions and transportation options, exquisite expertly manicured gardens with many, many seating areas for relaxation and contemplation,
Do you have any suggestions to improve the property?
A wastebasket in each bathroom would be handy. The only one in the structure was located in the kitchen. Perhaps you would consider leaving a bar of soap in each bath, but we did bring our own, so it wasn't a problem. Everything else we needed was generously provided!

The attention to detail in the house in amazing, every room has interest and original features, even down to the light switches!! This is only surpassed by the HUGE grounds in which the house stands, the gardens are breathe taking... Every path, every corner , every view holds your eye..... Statues, flowers, eating areas, fruit trees, even a tree house and a bridge!! And on top of all this the luxury of an infinity pool, a sauna and jaccuzi . For us , this house is perfect. Thank you 😃☀️

Only a slight thing, we just feel that having to change such a large amount of money into euros for a deposit and take it with you ..... Only to be given it back at the end of the holiday and then have to convert back to pounds.... Is a little inconvenient?? Maybe it would be easier for the client to leave a deposit by paying over the internet and then be reimbursed after a two week period ??

A home with a rustic touch, with the typical exposed-beam ceilings and antique terracotta floors, but cosy and comfortable, complemented by an elegant outbuilding used as a fitness area with a large Jacuzzi for 4 people, sauna and solarium. One of the best parts of this property is the park surrounding the house, a spectacular botanical garden, overflowing with colours and embellished with hundreds of species of plants and flowers, that winds along a real nature trail inside the property and along the paths in the woods around it. Borgo Paradiso is situated on a beautiful hill with a view over the Colline Metallifere (metal-bearing hills). Located in the small village of Ciciano, very close to Chiusdino, with its famous Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano, it is strategically placed for visiting the famous borghi of the province of Siena, such as Montalcino and San Gimignano, or the Chianti territory and admiring their unique artistic and architectural charm. "...It is a vast countryside enlivened by all the beauty that the sublime genius of nature was able to create. There are mountains in part bare and in part lushly green, and large valleys full of gushing springs and deep trenches. Interior:

The house has a single floor. The entrance opens directly into the open-plan living area with lounge, dining room and fitted kitchen (with wood stove and fireplace ornamental). Then on to a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and through a small hallway with laundry corner to the second double bedroom (with divisible bed) with direct access to the garden and to the bathroom with tub and shower. Just few steps from the main house is a little annex (12 sq m) with a double sofa bed and a small bathroom with shower. Finally, about 50 m from the house is the 60 sq m wooden outbuilding with the fitness area and gym, completed by a kitchenette, shower and bathroom.

Park:

A five-hectare, fenced-in park constitutes the entire property that surrounds the house and forms the whole borgo. A well delineated path passes through the wooded areas, leading to the discovery of many scenes arranged with great care to evoke the old customs and traditions of the past: a collection of old farm equipment, and even a charcoal kiln, which has now been adapted as a reading corner. There are many places to sit and relax in various strategic spots facing the olive grove, like the terrace surrounded by climbing vines, the rich orchard (cherry, peach, fig, walnut and pear trees), the chapel (which can be visit on request) or in the shade of majestic oaks. A fabulous 3.500 sq m botanical garden houses a collection of plants and flowers, along which meandering paths lead to the various set-up areas. For alfresco dining, guests can choose between a panoramic veranda connected to the house, or a romantic gazebo, covered with climbing roses, in front of the large windows of the fitness area. And, finally, on one side of the veranda, an area paved in teak and delimited by a wall covered with climbing roses contains a cosy lounge corner. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The infinity pool overlooks the wild landscape with the unmistakable typical colours of the Colline Metallifere. Situated on the side of the property bordering the woods, it is just a few metres from the house and can be reached along a cypress-lined path. The pool is rectangular with an irregular side, has stone border, sand-coloured PVC lining, stone steps for the entrance and is equipped with internal lighting. It measures 9 x 4.5 m with a constant depth of 1.30 m. Surrounding it is equipped with sunbeds and cold-water shower. A wooden terrace is set up with sofa and armchair. The area is completed by a service bathroom/dressing room. Next to the pool, constructed on an old oak, is a wooden tree house from whose windows stretches a breathtaking panorama as far as the eye can see (entry is allowed only if accompanied by the owner). The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October.

Location and distances


The property is located in the municipality of Chiusdino, a village of ancient origins which preserves the structure of a fortified medieval castle in a magnificent hillside location. Surrounded by the Val di Merse and the Colline Metallifere, it is the ideal place for those looking for a holiday immersed in nature, exploring by bike or on foot the trails which wind through the thick woods of old oak and chestnut trees or which lead to the numerous country churches and castles of which the whole area is rich, above all the most famous monument: the Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano. In Chiusdino can be found all necessary shops and services, restaurants and pizzerias as well as good road links that allow visitors to explore the beautiful villages around Siena; within easy reach are also the beaches of the Tyrrhenian coast. The nearest railway station is Siena and there is a bus service between Chiusdino and Siena. Florence (107 km) and Pisa (118 km) are the most convenient and closest airports in the region.

Beautiful peaceful well manicured grounds surround the 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage. If you want peace and quiet this is the place. The cottage has wonderful Tuscan decor. A separate building has a hot tub, sauna, workout area which we used everyday. The hosts were great and very accommodating. The village has a grocery store for all your needs. The villa is located high up and you need to travel on a winding road to reach it. Siena is about 45 minutes away.

The welcome we received when we arrived was splendid. We were taken around and shown all the amenities of the property and then by car shown where to shop and eat locally . We were introduced to a shop keeper and a restaurant owner and invited to see the owners reclamation materials business and taken to lunch during our stay - which was both generous and fascinating. The owners also invited us to have supper with them - which was delightful. During the week we were on our own in this peacef

I thought the "paperwork" associated with reserving, paying for and confirming the rental was confusing. There were lots of different documents arriving at different times. Perhaps, once the reservation is confirmed, a "checklist" for documentation would be helpful. (i.e., all possible documents are displayed at the beginning; when they arrive, they show they have.)

Everything that was advertised was present in the villa. We appreciated all the lovely details that made the property feel like home -- a welcome basket of treats and a bottle of wine, lovely appliances, comfortable beds with luxurious linens, nice towels and bathrobes, plenty of dishes, great internet access so we could accomplish our research of the area attractions and transportation options, exquisite expertly manicured gardens with many, many seating areas for relaxation and contemplation,

A wastebasket in each bathroom would be handy. The only one in the structure was located in the kitchen. Perhaps you would consider leaving a bar of soap in each bath, but we did bring our own, so it wasn't a problem. Everything else we needed was generously provided!

What are the aspects of the property that you appreciated the most?
The attention to detail in the house in amazing, every room has interest and original features, even down to the light switches!! This is only surpassed by the HUGE grounds in which the house stands, the gardens are breathe taking... Every path, every corner , every view holds your eye..... Statues, flowers, eating areas, fruit trees, even a tree house and a bridge!! And on top of all this the luxury of an infinity pool, a sauna and jaccuzi . For us , this house is perfect. Thank you 😃☀️

Do you have any suggestion in order to improve the quality of Emma Villas services?
Only a slight thing, we just feel that having to change such a large amount of money into euros for a deposit and take it with you ..... Only to be given it back at the end of the holiday and then have to convert back to pounds.... Is a little inconvenient?? Maybe it would be easier for the client to leave a deposit by paying over the internet and then be reimbursed after a two week period ??

Zer0Dep stands for "Zero deposit"; it is an insurance coverage developed in partnership with EuropAssistance which replaces the security deposit and which is therefore mandatory. The benefits of this guarantee are: you do not pay the security deposit on arrival: neither in cash nor by immobilising a substantial amount on your credit card limit;
  • you are protected in the case of eventual damage to the property caused accidentally during your stay (up to the maximum limit of 1500 euro);
  • you avoid any dispute on the responsibility of the damage and its quantification during check-out;
