Il Grillo is an old farmhouse that has been renovated, fully reflecting the Tuscan architectural tradition with its brick structure and typical finishing touches. It is protected on all sides by rows of vines which extend to the horizon and which design the inimitable landscape setting of the Valdichiana that frames the vast, well-kept park surrounding the house. Large outdoor areas set up for relaxing, the swimming pool in the centre of the garden and the bright, well-kept rooms equipped with every comfort, make it ideal for families with children and for groups of friends. We are a few kilometres from Poliziano's borgo, renowned for the beauty of its historic centre and for the production of prestigious wines, at the centre of an area of great artistic and landscape interest, allowing you to combine visits to the numerous art cities and the beautiful historic borghi of both Tuscany and the nearby region of Umbria with refreshing stops at the countless spas in the immediate surroundings (Montepulciano, Rapolano and Chianciano Terme), which represent a source of pride in this part of Tuscany. The house is located about 1.5 km from the hamlet of Montepulciano Stazione, where you can find all basic necessities, bars, pizzerias and the railway station..

IL GRILLO HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO A CHECK-UP BY A TECHNICAL RESPONSIBLE BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, TO ENSURE CONSISTENCY OF THE DESCRIPTION, ACCESSORIES LISTED ON THIS PAGE AND THEIR PRESENT STATE OF OPERATION/MAINTENANCE, TO GUARANTEE QUALITY, CLEANLINESS AND COMFORTS TO ALL CLIENTS WHO WILL STAY HERE.

Interior:

The Grillo is made up of a single building divided into two residential and not communicating units. The main one, after entering the door, leads into the living room with a sitting area, dining table and kitchen in the open space, from which the equipped porch is conveniently located. From the internal staircase you gain the first floor on which there are two double bedrooms served by two bathrooms with shower, one of which is en-suite. Through a large furnished veranda is the entrance of the second housing unit, located a few meters from the entrance of the main unit. It leads into a large living room connected with a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor (also reachable directly through an external staircase), which houses one double bedroom and one en-suite bathroom with shower. The laundry room is located next to the portico of the main area.

Park:

The completely enclosed garden of the property, about 3000 sq m, surrounds the house. It is predominantly flat and covered mainly by lawn, along which are various areas for relaxing outdoors: a veranda, the portico for outdoor dining at the exit of the main kitchen (with the stone barbecue a few steps away), two gazebos with relaxation areas and, finally, the swimming pool in a central position. The entire perimeter of the garden is delimited by a young hedge providing privacy. The shaded parking area is located just after the entrance gate to the property. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The swimming pool, open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October, is located in the centre of the garden and can be reached from the house, which is about 15 m away, across a path on the lawn. Measuring 5 x 12 m with a constant depth of 1.50 m, it is lined in light-coloured PVC, has chlorine purification, lighting and submerged steps for access to the water. The pool area, covered in terracotta paving and lawn, is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, little tables and a shower.

The house is a few kilometres from the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, known mainly for the magnificence of its Renaissance buildings, for the elegant beauty of its churches and for the “Vino Nobile", one of the most internationally-esteemed Tuscan wines. The strategic position of Montepulciano, on a spur of 605 metres above sea level, between the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana, makes this property the perfect base from which to explore the beauties of Tuscany. Less than 20 km away is the A1 motorway (with the Chiusi/ Chianciano Terme exit for those coming from the south and the Valdichiana exit for those coming from the north) which you can take to cities such as Florence, Siena, Orvieto, Rome. You won't need to take the motorway to visit the nearby borghi of Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona, Sarteano and the nearby region of Umbria. The railway station at Montepulciano Stazione, on the Siena-Chiusi line, is about 1.5 km away.
