Being surrounded by oak-trees and olive-trees, you can appreciate the Tuscan country side. What makes the property unique is, on one side, it's splendid panoramic position overlooking the entire Valdichiana valley, and on the other, the circular tower with a roof made of stone tiles built in the 16th century, which through the ages has been transformed into a windmill. The country house built in the 18th century has recovered its beautiful antique splendour thanks to the accurate restoration of the owners, who found the perfect balance between the old and the new, rendering your stay as pleasant as possible. Casale La Torretta is an unique and maybe even magical, where you can enjoy an unforgettable and certainly splendid and relaxing holiday.

Interior:

The country house made out of stone, has a characteristic external loggia and is divided into two levels. On the ground floor you will find the kitchen, which overlooks the well kept garden and offers you a wonderful view. From the kitchen one has access to the spacious dining room, with a big stone ornamental fire-place and equipped with antique furniture, that is extremely functional. The living room has an ornamental fire-place, sofas and TV, are inserted in an ambience with large wooden beams and big windows that enable you to admire the panorama. On the same floor you'll find two bedrooms which are comunicating (one double and one twin), both with an adjoining bathroom. Both the double and the twin have direct access into the garden, but can not be accesed from the outside of the property. A characteristic loggia, can be reached by a beautiful stone staircase, accessing the first floor. This floor is made up of comfortable living room you will find a large ornamental fire-place and curious niches in the walls. It is relaxing and comfortable at the same time decorated with typical Tuscan colours and ardent terracotta pavement. From the living room there are two double bedrooms with wrought iron beds and antique wardrobes, one bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the other bedroom has an adjacent bathroom. TOWER: The tower has a round form and still preserves pieces of stone pavement and characteristic spiral stairs. At the ground floor you will find a tiny reading-room and a delightful bathroom. By taking the spiral stairs you can enter the master bedroom. This bedroom has very old embrasured windows, an original wardrobe and an iron bed. The laundry room is located adjacent to the swimming pool with entrance only from the outside.

Park:

The garden, of approximately 5.000 m² is well maintained and delimited by a wooden fence, and is in perfect harmony with the Mediterranean vegetation which surrounds the property. The total estate of the property encloses 4,2 hectares, which ensures complete privacy. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The fenced wimming pool, open from the last Saturday of April to the first saturday of October, is situated at a terrace bounded by a wall made out of stone, measures 4 x 8 m with a depth varying from 1.10 to 1.90 m, a sunbathing area with furnishings, two gazebos, solar shower, and umbrella. From here there is an absolute unique view of the surrounding nature. The pool area is furnished also with a stone barbecue.

Location and distances


The property location is an ideal starting point for those who wish to have take day trips and go sightseeing all over South Tuscany and Umbria: being in the city of Cortona located not far from the motorway A1 (exit Valdichiana) and from the superway Siena-Perugia. Very well known locations like Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Perugia, Assisi and so on can be reached in less than hour driving as well as the hidden and maybe most beautiful corners of these 2 regions. Big cities like Florence or Rome can be easily reached also by train (we suggest to use the mehod of transport in the high season to avoid traffic)Cortona is served by 2 train stations. Above all we are quite sure that you will fall in love with the ancient atmosphere of this beautiful town. All shops and facilities in the big village of Camucia, nice restaurants, bars, cafes, shops in Cortona. Supermarket are open also on Sunday morning.

Mountainous road with a couple of elbow curves, which although in good condition the presence of holes and bumps is inevitable. We recommend vehicles of small of medium sized.

We had two families staying and loved that we had a kids zone and parents zone. The highlight for us was having chef Stefano come to us - by far the best meals of our whole trip

We loved the privacy and the authenticity of La Torretta. Arriving on the property was like stepping into a scene from a movie, breathtaking views, olive trees, the glittering pool. We were pleasantly surprised by how much bigger the Villa and property seemed versus the photos from the website. Good location. Good view. Quite. Close to Cortona and Camucia for shopping. The villa arrangement is perfect for 2 famillies of 2 adultes + 2 children, like us. Indeed, there are 4 bathrooms for 4 rooms. One room with individual beds. The first floor was for parents, and the ground floor was for the kids. They enjoined such freedoom. The stair are outside. The kitchen and living room are accessible without distrubing the kids in the mooring.

We loved the layout of the villa, the pool area, the view was spectacular and being able to walk to the shops in Pergo was wonderful.

The location was superb. The villa was private and peaceful. The grounds were lovely and the view incredible. Had the weather been better we could have made much more use of it and our holiday would have been a much more positive experience. The upper floor was spacious and private.

Better ant control - as in better traps not just spray. They showed us electric meter up from but given we have no idea how much electricity is it seemed a little sketchy.

The biggest disappointment was that we could not walk to town. I had expressed that as big priority so my husband would not always have to drive everyone. It was described as 1 km but it really was longer and not walkable. It was my own fault for not being more clear how important this was to us. Other than that everyone at Emma Villas was professional and helpful.

We liked the property and it was wonderful concerning the prospect, the historic structure of the old typical Tuscan building, the loneliness, the number of rooms and baths, the pool, the landscape and the nearby town of Cortona.

The property was just great. Of course, air conditioning would have been nice for us soft Americans, but we got used to it -- and honestly, the trip was so great, the villa, the people, that air conditioning was the last thing we worried about -- we absolutely loved the property.

I really don't have any suggestion to improve your services. We have learned with this trip on better ways to travel (car rentals, etc.) but just comes with experience. Everyone at Emma Villas was very professional and made sure we had a great time. Thank you especially to Lucia -- she was so helpful. Please give her my e-mail information -- we have promised to stay in touch until our next visit.

STAY CANCELLATION GUARANTEE DUE TO LOCKDOWN - by Emma Villas (Included in the price) The final price of the reservation includes also the special coverage, guaranteed by Emma Villas, in the event that you are forced to cancel your stay in the 30 days prior to the scheduled check-in date, due to the occurrence of at least one of the following Covid-19 epidemic containment measures officially imposed by the competent authorities:
  • national lockdown in Italy;
  • local lockdown in Italy regarding the area in which the booked villa is located ("red" area or impossible to reach due to official restrictions on free circulation);
  • national lockdown in your country of residence;
  • Italian local lockdown in the Client's Municipality or area of residence..

HEALTH ASSISTANCE INSURANCE POLICY - by EuropAssistance (Optional) +1,5% of the rental price Not only cancellation policies, but also protection during your stay. You can choose to purchase this policy in the event you should, for the duration of your stay, want coverage for:

  • Vehicle Assistance to and from the place of stay and for the entire duration of your holiday; (zona "rossa" o impossibile da raggiungere a causa di restrizioni ufficiali alla libera circolazione);
  • Healthcare for family members left at home;

ZER0DEP COVER - by EuropAssistance (Mandatory) 49€ each reservation The new "Zer0Dep" guarantee protects you and allows you to have a tranquil holiday. Zer0Dep stands for "Zero deposit"; it is an insurance coverage developed in partnership with EuropAssistance which replaces the security deposit and which is therefore mandatory. The benefits of this guarantee are: you do not pay the security deposit on arrival: neither in cash nor by immobilising a substantial amount on your credit card limit;
  • you are protected in the case of eventual damage to the property caused accidentally during your stay (up to the maximum limit of 1500 euro);
  • you avoid any dispute on the responsibility of the damage and its quantification during check-out;
