PRIVATE STRUCTURE (lease only). Torretta is a splendid antique property, located on the top of a nice hill next to the Medieval town of Cortona. Being surrounded by oak-trees and olive-trees, you can appreciate the Tuscan country side. What makes the property unique is, on one side, it's splendid panoramic position overlooking the entire entire Valdichiana valley, and on the other, the circular tower with a roof made of stone tiles built in the 16th century, which through the ages has been transformed into a windmill. The country house built in the 18th century has recovered its beautiful antique splendour thanks to the accurate restoration of the owners, who found the perfect balance between the old and the new, rendering your stay as pleasant as possible. Casale La Torretta is an unique and maybe even magical, where you can enjoy an unforgettable and certainly splendid and relaxing holiday. Please note: when the property is rented in this solution no other guests will be present on site.

Interior:

This stone country house has a characteristic traditional loggia which is accessible via an external stone staircase. This property is divided onto two floors; on the ground floor there is a small kitchen with a splendid view of the garden, from which one can enter the dining room with fireplace (ornamental only) which is spacious and welcoming. Also on this floor is a traditional living room with wooden ceiling beams and large windows equipped with sofa’s and TV. The living room is accessible both via an external entrance and on the two bedrooms which are communicating, a double bedroom and a twin with dividable beds both with private bathroom and both with direct access into the garden. The first floor is accessible via the external staircase, where one enters into the typically Tuscan decorated with “cotto” flooring. From the living room there are two double bedrooms with wrought iron beds and antique wardrobes, one bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the other bedroom has an adjacent bathroom.

Park:

The garden, of approximately 5.000 m² is well maintained and delimited by a wooden fence, and is in perfect harmony with the Mediterranean vegetation which surrounds the property. The total estate of the property encloses 4,2 hectares, which ensures complete privacy. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The fenced swimming pool, open from the last saturday of April to the first saturday of October, is situated at a terrace bounded by a wall made out of stone, measures 4 x 8 m with a depth varying from 1.10 to 1.90 m, a sunbathing area with furnishings. From here there is an absolute unique view of the surrounding nature. The pool area is furnished also with a stone barbecue.

Location and distances


The location is an ideal starting point for who wish to have nice daily trip and sightseeing all over South Tuscany and Umbria as well: being the city of Cortona located not far either from the motorway A1 ( exit Valdichiana) and from the freeway Siena-Perugia. Very well known sites like Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Perugia, Assisi and so on can be reached in less than hour driving as well as the hidden and maybe most beautiful corners of this 2 regions. Big cities like Firenze or Roma can be easily reached also by train ( and we suggest to use it in high season to avoid traffic roads) being Cortona served by 2 train railways stations. Above all we are quite sure that you will fall in love with the ancient atmosphere of this beautiful town. All shops and facilities in the big village of Camucia, nice restaurants, bars, cafes, shops in Cortona. Supermarket are open also on Sunday morning.

Access roads: About 1 km of partly paved and partly gravel which is in some parts insufficient for vehicles which are excessively big or sports cars. Mountainous road with a couple of elbow curves, which although in good condition the presence of holes and bumps is inevitable. We recommend vehicles of small of medium sized.

We loved the privacy and the authenticity of La Torretta. Arriving on the property was like stepping into a scene from a movie, breathtaking views, olive trees, the glittering pool. We were pleasantly surprised by how much bigger the Villa and property seemed versus the photos from the website. Good location. Good view. Quite. Close to Cortona and Camucia for shopping. The villa arrangement is perfect for 2 famillies of 2 adultes + 2 children, like us. Indeed, there are 4 bathrooms for 4 rooms. One room with individual beds. The first floor was for parents, and the ground floor was for the kids. They enjoined such freedoom. The stair are outside. The kitchen and living room are accessible without distrubing the kids in the mooring.

We loved the layout of the villa, the pool area, the view was spectacular and being able to walk to the shops in Pergo was wonderful.

The location was superb. The villa was private and peaceful. The grounds were lovely and the view incredible. Had the weather been better we could have made much more use of it and our holiday would have been a much more positive experience. The upper floor was spacious and private.

Better ant control - as in better traps not just spray. They showed us electric meter up from but given we have no idea how much electricity is it seemed a little sketchy.

The biggest disappointment was that we could not walk to town. I had expressed that as big priority so my husband would not always have to drive everyone. It was described as 1 km but it really was longer and not walkable. It was my own fault for not being more clear how important this was to us. Other than that everyone at Emma Villas was professional and helpful.

The property was just great. Of course, air conditioning would have been nice for us soft Americans, but we got used to it -- and honestly, the trip was so great, the villa, the people, that air conditioning was the last thing we worried about -- we absolutely loved the property.

I really don't have any suggestion to improve your services. We have learned with this trip on better ways to travel (car rentals, etc.) but just comes with experience. Everyone at Emma Villas was very professional and made sure we had a great time. Thank you especially to Lucia -- she was so helpful. The standard typology is the one that foresees the regular Saturday- Saturday stay. In this case it is possible to send a request or to directly book online.

SHORT STAYS and NON-WEEKLY STAYS:
For some periods it is possible to make shorter stays STARTING FROM 5 NIGHTS (periods highlighted in grey on the calendar). For some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas. One of our booking operators will answer the clients within 24 hours.

WEEKLY RENTALS NON SAT - SAT STAYS:
Exclusively for the periods marked in grey on the calendar, it will be possible to book different periods, rather than the regular Saturday - Saturday (for instance: check-in Wednesday - Check-out Wednesday). Also in this case, for some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas within 24 hours.

The booking requests for one week stay during July and August are subject to approval.
