Guests staying here will experience unique moments, particularly enhanced by the comforts of the property, like the indoor Jacuzzi, the pool, true gem of the garden with its unique privacy, the outdoor kitchen with gas barbecue, the solarium on the terrace and the relaxation area in the garden with the Japanese stream adorned with water lilies. The simply furnished property welcomes its guests with a warmth that few other houses can do; sipping an aperitif in front of the large window, it will seem as though you are on the sea and, in the evening, the lights along the coast will frame your unforgettable stay in this place. Please Note: when the property is rented in this solution no other guests will be present on site.

Interior:

Villa Il Ciliegio sul Lago has two floors. The main entrance at the side of the house leads into an open-plan area composed of sitting room with ornamental fireplace, TV corner and dining room, with two large sliding glass doors which lead out to the garden in front of the house, furnished with little sofas and armchairs. On the side opposite the entrance door is the modern-style kitchen with centre island which leads out to the garden facing the sea or out to the side with the pool where you will find the outdoor kitchen with table, chairs and barbecue. The living area has access also to the small spa with heated Jacuzzi and TV and to a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. On the top floor is one double bedroom, a bathroom with shower en suite and the solarium terrace with sunbeds.

Park:

Facing the sea is the garden with a lawn, Japanese stream, cherry tree and bushes of herbs alternating with flowering plants. On the right side of the property, near the entrance gate, is a gazebo with deck chairs, reachable also from the spa. Not far away are the steps leading to the upper garden with the pool and solarium, surrounded by typical plants of the area and a creeper climbing up the whole rocky wall. Near the internal kitchen there is the external dining area with sink and washing machine. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

Set in the most secluded part of the property, a flight of steps leads to the pool area with solarium in wooden slat-effect grès where sunbeds and deckchairs provide the right combination for your relaxation. Roman steps provide access to the rectangular pool which measures 3.85 x 6.40 sq m with a constant depth of 1.20 m and is lined in light-coloured PVC and cobalt mosaic in the area of the emotional waterfall. The pool is completed by a Jacuzzi corner, internal multicoloured LED lighting commanded by remote control for the selection of the desired shade and a new system of antiallergic purification with salt. The border of the pool is in travertine.The pool is open from the last saturday of april to the first saturday of october.

Location and distances


The property is located just outside Pieve a Elici, known for its Romanesque church, and the little town of Massarosa (about 3 km away), reference point for all shops and necessary services. It is set in the beautiful countryside of the Versilia hills, in an area in the north of Tuscany bordered by the western slopes of the Apuan Alps, by the nature Park of San Rossore with the lake of Massaciuccoli (the largest in Tuscany, lying within a natural oasis which is home to many species of birds and on which you can make boat trips) and, finally, by the Tyrrhenian coast with its mix of fun, culture, beautiful landscapes and sea with stupendous beaches. The area can be easily reached from the main airport of Pisa (43 km) and by car: from Florence via the Firenze-Pisa A11 motorway and from Genoa via the Genova-Rosignano A12 motorway. Exit is at Massarosa about 6 km away. The most convenient railway station is 16 km away in Viareggio. Just a few minutes from the property are some of the most beautiful spots in the surrounding area: Lido di Camaiore, on the sea, with its historic town centre full of artisan workshops and Romanesque architecture such as the Collegiate Church dating back to 1278; Pietrasanta, the main town of Versilia, known also, apart from its seaside attractions, for its high artistic level, realised in its fine working of marble from the quarries of the Apuan Alps and of bronze which attracts artists from all over the world; Forte dei Marmi, built on the remains of the fort of the same name that stands in the centre of town, is the most "in" place in Versilia, thanks to its beaches, luxury shops and famous night clubs; Viareggio, the "Pearl of the Tyrrhenian", with its varied landscapes, both sea and mountain, and a series of internationally renowned cultural events, such as musical events, its magical Carnival, literary awards and cinematographic events. A 15-minute drive through the Val Freddana, along the oil and wine route, will bring you to the wonderful town of Lucca, with its medieval historic town centre, completely enclosed by Renaissance-era fortified walls. In the town, apart from the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, famous for its elliptical shape, are various architectural works of great artistic and religious importance, like the Duomo of San Martino, the Church of San Michele in Foro and the Basilica of San Frediano. About 10 km outside Lucca are many splendid villas with marvellous gardens like Palazzo Mansi, the Villa of Paolo Guinigi, Palazzo Moriconi-Pfanner and, finally, the house where the composer Giacomo Puccini was born, today a museum housing the documents and memorabilia of the great Maestro. Every year an important appointment with opera music is held in his honour, very close to the property: the Puccini Festival at Torre del Lago where he lived for many years and where he composed a lot of his works. Villa Puccini (open to the public) stands on a hill overlooking the lake of Massaciuccoli; his tomb is now housed there. Other musical events include an unmissable occasion for music fans at Pieve a Elici, along the Via Francigena and very close to the property. Every summer, the church of San Pantaleone sees a traditional and, by now, famous appointment with a series of renowned concerts held during the Versilia Festival della Musica da Camera (Festival of Chamber Music).

La villa è magnifica e tenuta splendidamente dai gentilissimi proprietari Andrea e Susanna. L'unico suggerimento che penso sia utile dare riguarda il raggiungimento della struttura, ovvero evitare di seguire pedissequamente Google Maps per evitare le strettoie e la via sterrata di inizio Via alla Costa (ma noi ce l'abbiamo fatta con un furgone ed è stata parte di un'avventura bellissima)

Very well located away from the mass tourism. But everything you need is near like a supermarket, Bakery, restaurants ... the owner were very nice and helped us if help was needed. Everything beautifull we were very sad to drive back home after 2 weeks!

Since the property is quite remote, the alarm system is a good thing. The kitchen is very well equipped and for a perfect holiday we appreciated the sunny pool area, the jacouzy, the big smart TV and the amazing view.

We appreciated the layout of the property and the attention to detail the owners had paid to ensure that the guests were comfortable and relaxed. We had all necessary information at hand and if more information was needed the owners were willing to provide help within a short notice. The kitchen was well-equipped and the heated jacuzzi room was a special touch. The views from the property are stunning and owners are exceptionally nice. It was lovely to have air-conditioning even though it wasn't

We had a wonderful holiday staying at this property. The property has fantastic views of the surrounding area. Both the hot tub and swimming pool were ideal in the hot weather. Despite the warm weather we did not have difficulty sleeping as the property has air conditioning and fans.
