PRIVATE STRUCTURE Villa Karin is a family villa with a wonderful swimming pool. It lies on the north side of Monte Tauro, with a spectacular view of the sea and coast up to the mainland of Calabria. It is located in the centre of Taormina and the entrance to Corso Umberto (Porta Messina) can be reached in a few minutes on foot, as can the beach establishments of Isola Bella and Mazzarò (about 1 km away). The property extends over several levels, typical of houses located on the side of the hill, allowing you to enjoy the view from each level, in a succession of descents, stone steps and the areas of lawn that make up the garden. The villa has three floors connected by both internal and external staircases, rendering each floor independently usable, and has terraces with breathtaking sea views. At the top floor is a terrace where you can relax and unwind with an apéritif. Level with the living area is the large shaded terrace that will allow you to partake of numerous meals around the big table. The master bedroom, on the intermediate floor, has its own terrace where you can just relax on sunbeds. Level with the lower floor is an area of lawn perfect for children's games or for a picnic. The interiors are designed for comfort with an attractive mix of contemporary furnishings and the combination of large glass windows and light parquet floors that render the rooms light and airy, with the generous spaces guaranteeing privacy. Upstairs, the large living area that extends onto the terrace with a wonderful sea view will be the spot for convivial gatherings. On an even lower level, the large inviting infinity pool offers an unforgettable view of the sea while the sunbathing area is designed to guarantee full relaxation thanks to the romantic canopy and a captivating design armchair, in the name of discreet elegance. For those who find that the many stairs around the place are not enough to keep fit, there is a small gym located on the lower level that will certainly be appreciated!
Interior:
Villa Karin has three floors. The main entrance is located on the upper floor. Welcoming you is the breathtaking view from the terrace located at the entrance to the villa. From here you can directly access the open-plan area made up of a living room with sofas, a cosy kitchen, a bathroom with tub and a dining area, with a table for 8, which opens onto the large terrace with a big dining table shaded by a canopy and with a majestic view of the sea up to Calabria. Also here is a fixed gas barbecue and a characteristic stone sink. Down a flight of steps to the intermediate floor is the sleeping area consisting of a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and a terrace equipped with two sunbeds, a double bedroom and a single bedroom (queen size bed) that share a spacious bathroom with separate tub and shower. On the lower floor, the second open-plan area (without air conditioning) includes a living room with TV screen and comfortable sofa, a dining area, a study corner and a kitchenette. French windows lead outside to the lawn. Slightly set apart on the same floor is a double bedroom (with air conditioning) with private bathroom with shower. The laundry room is also located on this floor. From the outside you can access a sloping path, alternating with steps, that leads down to the swimming pool. Below the pool is the small gym (without air conditioning) with bathroom with shower. From here a short path leads down to the parking area.
Park:
The rarity of finding a spacious villa in the centre of Taormina with a swimming pool and sea view entails its location on a piece of land lying on the side of the mountain, a characteristic and usual element in Taormina which determines the privileged position of the structure. The main entrance gate opens into the unexpected terraced garden. A sloping path, framed by the garden of Mediterranean scrub, leads down to the main entrance of the villa. The garden of Villa Karin is arranged on the various terraces of the house. From the upper pedestrian gate to the vehicle gate on the lower level is a descent of about 500 m which intersects paths and steps. The garden that runs along the descent is made up of typical Mediterranean scrub with flowering spots and lemon and fruit trees. Palm trees, cacti, aloe vera and strelitzia are the most impressive plants. At the level of the main entrance is a spacious terrace with sofa and armchairs. The terrace level with the dining room on the upper floor has a large table under a pergola as well as a fixed gas barbecue. On the intermediate floor is a further terrace with two sunbeds for use by the master bedroom, and on the lower floor the lawn leads to the steps going down to the swimming pool. From each terrace you can enjoy a spectacular sea view. The last downhill path leads from the swimming pool to the small gym and, finally, to the parking area with the manually-opening vehicle gate (with a maximum of four parking spaces) which opens directly onto the municipal road. Also at this level is a pedestrian gate that opens onto the same municipal road that leads to the sea along a route of road, path and steps for a total of about 1 km.
Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The pool area is located at a lower level than the villa and can be reached by a downhill route of about 150 m, partly path and partly 20 steps. The infinity pool is located on the last terrace of this large garden and the view has been left intact thanks to a glass balustrade. From here you can admire the coast of Taormina up to Calabria. The pool area is surrounded by a smooth concrete solarium of about 60 sq m equipped with sunbeds, two umbrellas, a canopy bed and a built-in seat. Beyond the solarium, a small lawn area leads to the path down to the small gym with bathroom with shower and, finally, to the parking area and the gate below. The rectangular swimming pool, measuring
13 x 6 m with the depth varying from 1,50 to 2.20 m, is lined internally with mosaics and has chlorine purification and internal steps for access to the water. Near the pool is a
hot-water shower and thanks to both the external and internal lighting, you can enjoy the pool in the evening as well. The pool will remain open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of November.
